The Role of the Guardian ad Litem in Custody Cases

This program will provide attorneys with information on topics including the statutory authority to appoint Guardians ad Litem, Supreme Court standards for such appointments and the practical issues relating to representing a party while working with a Guardian ad Litem. 

Fee:  $25 for non-members of the Law Library Association. Free for Library Members and students and faculty at Saint Louis University School of Law.

Our speaker is the Honorable David A. Roither, Associate Circuit Judge of the 22nd Judicial Circuit.   Judge Roither was licensed to practice law in 1999, and was a partner at the law firm of Medler & Roither, LLC from 2005-2018 practicing primarily in the areas of family and juvenile law. He was a frequently appointed Guardian ad Litem for abused and neglected children in St. Louis County, the City of St. Louis and St. Charles County circuit courts.
