Changes in Missouri's Order of Protection Law

IN-PERSON PROGRAM CO-SPONSORED BY LEGAL SERVICES OF EASTERN MISSOURI. This presentation will outline in detail the changes made in both 2021 and 2022 to the Missouri Adult Abuse Act regarding orders of protection. The speaker will share successes we've already seen since the changes have been implemented and there will be an opportunity for a question and answer session.

Our speaker is Jackie Matreci, B.A., J.D., Senior Staff Attorney with theLasting Solutions Family Law Program of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. A dedicated advocate for survivors of domestic and sexual violence for more than 20 years, Jackie joined the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri staff in 2016, representing survivors in orders of protection, divorce, paternity, and custody matters in the Lasting Solutions family law program.  Prior to law school Jackie advocated for survivors at non-profit and government organizations in both the St. Louis area and in Southern Illinois.  Since obtaining her J.D. in 2010 Jackie has practiced primarily family law, almost exclusively representing survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.
