Morley Swingle, Jr. has decades of experience as a prosecuting attorney. He served as prosecuting attorney for Cape Girardeau County for 25 years and also has served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, and as an assistant circuity attorney in St. Louis. He most recently served as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Boone County. Morley taught the “Criminal Law Update” at the Missouri Judicial College every year from 1993 to 2010, teaching Missouri’s trial judges the latest developments in criminal law. He also served 18 years on the Missouri Supreme Court’s Criminal Procedures Committee, which writes the book containing pattern jury instructions used in every criminal case in Missouri.
