The Law Library Association of St. Louis is committed to providing legal research materials for all its patrons, including our non-attorney patrons. We have several print resources that specifically cater to self-representation, including titles on self-representation in certain areas of law and how to do legal research. Several of these titles can be downloaded as PDFs or eBooks from our online catalog. https://stllawlib.bywatersolutions.com/
We also have “A Guide to Representing Yourself in Court” which was created by our library with funding from a St. Louis Bar Foundation grant. Additionally, the library has several other flyers and pamphlets from other organizations that provide free or reduced-rate legal services in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
The library’s website also contains an entire webpage dedicated to providing our pro se patrons with many free online legal resources. This webpage includes links to numerous resources helpful to the non-attorney, including websites for governmental departments within Missouri and Illinois, forms for several local Missouri courts, local bar associations, and other general legal information websites. See our Legal Websites page for a complete listing. https://llastl.org/legal-websites
