HeinOnline is a legal research database that is offered free of charge both in the library and remotely for Law Library Association members. But to call HeinOnline a legal research database does not cover its complete scope. This resource provides more than 210 million pages of multidisciplinary periodicals, government documents, legislative histories, international documents, case law and more.

Documents contained in HeinOnline are all in pdf form and fully searchable. In addition to its famous and extensive journal library, HeinOnline also offers specialized topic area libraries. These include Military Legal Resources, Gun Regulation and Legislation in America and Judges and the Judiciary, among many others.

New journals and other materials are added to HeinOnline monthly.  These include new journals, new materials on international law, immigration law, U.S. Congressional documents, etc.

The Law Library Association is offering a continuing legal education program on using HeinOnline on Wednesday December 13. Take a deep dive into this legal resource, which has a wealth of information, at this program. Learn how to do a variety of searches to get the most out of the platform.
